Who we are
Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. It is an organisation that conducts diagnostic assessments and screenings for specific learning difficulties and assessments for examination access arrangements, tuition and study skills support.
Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training takes your privacy very seriously. In this Privacy Policy we have provided information about when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
Types of data we collect
When a client/learner contacts Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training to provide specialist support or an assessment a range of information is collected to enable us to fulfil that service provision.
Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training does not collect any personal information from visitors to its website other than information that is knowingly and voluntarily given.
Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use these data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website. Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address. Although this could be used to personally identify you, Google does not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third-party data processor (see section 4.0 below). GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides.
Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website. Anonymous information is collected, such as the number of visitors to the website in a given period, but it is purely statistical and cannot be used to identify an individual user. Cookies are not used to collect any other information from visitors to the website.
Visitors interested in Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training can provide contact details via the Contact form. Visitors cannot be contacted unless such information is given. Should you choose to contact us using the contact form on our ‘Contact us’ page or an email link, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website. Instead, the data will be collated into an email and sent to us. Our emails are stored securely on our email provider’s servers, and accessed through a number of client applications on several devices.
Any personal information that is received will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) May 2018. These regulations require registration with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
The type of information collected includes:

Personal identifiers and biographical information, for example, date of birth

Contact details – for example home address, email address and telephone number

Sensitive personal data – for example, details of why an individual seeks an assessment, details of a disability or specific learning difference, details of support a client/learner may have had in the past, assessment data, and notes written during and after support or assessment sessions or after other contact with client/learner

Dates of meetings held with a client/learner

Family details – for example, details of other family members with whom a client/learner or a client/learner’s school/college/workplace have given me consent to liaise.
Test papers and accompanying information with responses are kept in a secure place within Odyssey Assessment, Education and Training premises. The final report will be stored electronically and this will be password encrypted. In light of the need to keep minimal information, the final report will be stored electronically, password encrypted and kept until the child is 24 years of age or in the case of adult assessments, for 6 years after assessment takes place. Following the assessment and the compilation of the final assessment report, all client questionnaires, all raw data test sheets and all other personal data will be permanently destroyed.
Why we collect this information?
Information is collected to plan and provide an assessment or specialist support at the request of the client.
Who we might share this information with?
Once the assessment report is completed it will be emailed to the person who has commissioned the assessment. It will be password encrypted.
The assessment will not be shared with a third party without written permission from the person who has requested the assessment. Email threads will be deleted regarding information provided for the assessment.

Access to your personal information
You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold by making a Subject Access Request (SAR) by contacting the data protection officer. We may require additional verification that you are who you say you are to process this request.

Note: Requests from clients/learners to delete data relating to an individual will be considered on a case by case basis but we may be unable to remove all assessment records for legal reasons.
